Don’t treat closure of educational institutions as holiday: ministry
The education ministry today asked the authorities concerned to take necessary steps over students and guardians treating the closure of educational institutions as a holiday and visiting different areas of the country.
According to a letter issued by the ministry, the authorities were asked to look into this matter to prevent the spread of the virus, a ministry press release reads.
Disobeying government instructions, many coaching centres were also continuing their activities, increasing the risk of the spread of coronavirus (Covid-19), the release adds.
The ministry also asked all district administrations and superintendent of police (SPs) to take measures to send students homes if they were seen roaming outside.
Besides, the ministry has urged all guardians to keep their children at home.
On Monday, Education Minister Dipu Moni said all educational institutions will remain closed till March 31, starting from Tuesday (March 17), as a preventive measure against spread of the coronavirus.
