The film “Mujib: The Making of a Nation,” which chronicles the life of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, was screened at Nandan yesterday (June 7), a traditional cultural center in Kolkata. This film is a joint production of India-Bangladesh.
Renowned cultural figure Asaduzzaman Noor and Professor Kaberi Gayen of Dhaka University's Department of Mass Communication and Journalism, jointly presented the prestigious award to filmmaker Juboraj Shamim.
A press conference was held today at Bangladesh Film Development Corporation (BFDC) to announce the screening of the biopic “Mujib: The Making of a Nation” across 160 upazilas of Bangladesh. This joint venture production of the Bangladesh and Indian governments has been directed by renowned filmmaker Shyam Benegal.
The 22nd Dhaka International Film Festival (DIFF) officially kicks off today, featuring a lineup of around 250 films from 74 countries, including Bangladesh. The festival, spanning nine days from January 20 to January 28, will showcase 71 films from Bangladesh. Notably, the films “Mujib: The Making of a Nation” and “Fereshteh” will be available for viewing at the festival free of charge.
Star Cineplex has unveiled the list of films with the most significant opening at the theatres. Amongst them, three local movies has secured a spot, with Shah Rukh Khan leading the chart with his blockbuster "Jawan".
