When Sabyasachi Chakraborty landed in Dhaka in January for the 21st Dhaka International Film Festival, he made headlines when he announced that he will be retiring from the film industry. However, he made a completely new revelation with Indian local media, Anandabazar.
“The budget for our film was a mere 680 taka. In one room, and in two days, my first directorial ‘Anger’ was made, and here we are.” Showrov Kamal Chowdhury said to the crowd before the screenings began. It was the 7th day of the Dhaka International Film Festival and the evening was about the screening of 7 short films, under the segment ‘Bangladesh Panorama’.
Earlier today, the 'West Meets East (WME) Screenplay Lab' came to a conclusion at the Alliance Française de Dhaka, as a part of the Dhaka International Film Festival 2023.
The curtains rose for the 21st Dhaka International Film Festival yesterday in Sheikh Fazilatunnesa Mujib hall, in the National Museum. The event was inaugurated with a lot of vigour and celebrations, mainly pertaining to the message of peace.
