Desperate for tomorrow’s Asia Cup final between Bangladesh and India tickets, ticket seekers clashed with law enforcers at Mirpur-10 this morning.
Authorities suspended selling tickets after the incident.
The incident took place in front of a branch of the United Commercial Bank Limited just after the bank authorities started selling advance tickets around 10:00am.
The ticket seekers burst into protests due to shortage of tickets against their demand, reports the Bangla daily Prothom Alo.
They also hurled brickbats to the law enforcers, triggering a clash that left several people injured, police said.
Unruly protesters also vandalised several vehicles.
Police fired teargas to disperse the mob.
The clash was continuing till filing of the report around 1:36pm.
