This Bangla new year will bring good days for the people of Bangladesh, BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia hoped today.
"I hope the new year will bring good days for the people," Khaleda said while speaking at a programme in front of BNP’s Nayapaltan office on the occasion of Pahela Baishakh.
"We'll get democracy back this year. The country will be developed and people’s welfare and peace will be ensured. People will get rid of killings, enforced disappearances and repressive acts," she said.
The programme was organised by BNP’s cultural wing Jatiyatabadi Samajik Sangskritik Sangstha.
The BNP chief greeted all the Bangladeshis and Bangla-speaking people living across the world.
Khaleda called upon all to get united forgetting divisions and misunderstandings among them to take the country forward.
BNP senior leaders, among others, were present at the programme.
