Mahfuz Ahmed reuniting with Aupee Karim for his OTT debut
Mahfuz Ahmed made his return to the silver screen, after eight-long-years, with "Prohelika"—which is currently running houseful in multiplexes. Within a few weeks of his cracking comeback, the actor is now set to make his OTT debut through Shafayet Mansoor Rana's web-series "Odrishshyo" under the Hoichoi banner.
This is also the first time the renowned small-screen director is making a project on OTT. The news was confirmed by the director himself. "We have begun shooting the project a month ago," shared Rana. "The plot of the series revolves around a businessman who gets kidnapped one day, after which he faces one of the biggest challenges of his life."
Rana also informed that the political satire show consists of 8 episodes.
The series also features Aupee Karim in a pivotal role. Aupee Karim made her web debut through Amitabh Reza's "Dhaka Metro" in 2019. Having said that, Aupee and Mahfuz, who used to be a popular pair on the small screens during the 2000's, will be reuniting through this show.
The series is being shot in different locations across Dhaka. Rana shared that he has been focusing on bringing a new flavour to the screen, and he is putting forth his best effort to bring a variation to the type of cinematography and storytelling that is usually prevalent in OTT.
"With this being my and Mahfuz bhai's OTT debut, this is also our first collaboration together," said Rana. "It is also my first project with Aupee Karim as well." The director also said that around 80 percent of the shooting has been completed and it is expected to release by the end of September, exclusively on Hoichoi.
