40,200 Bangladeshi hajj pilgrims reached Saudi Arabia

A total of 40,200 Bangladeshi hajj pilgrims arrived in Saudi Arabia as of Sunday (June 26, 2022) since the hajj flights started on June 5.
Of the total hajj pilgrims, 3,385 went to Saudi Arabia under government hajj management and 36,815 under private hajj management.
The Religious Affairs Ministry published a notice in this regard.
Biman Bangladesh Airlines has so far operated 64 hajj flights, Saudia 43, and Flynas Airlines operated five hajj flights.
This year, the holy hajj pilgrimage will be held on July 8, subject to the sighting of the moon.
According to the bilateral agreement between Bangladesh and Saudi Arabia, a total of 57,585 Bangladeshis will be able to perform hajj this year.
Saudi Arabia on June 22, increased the number of hajj quota for Bangladeshis by another 2,415 people.
In 2019, around 1.27 lakh Bangladeshis were allowed to perform hajj. However, due to the global Covid pandemic, the largest annual Muslim congregation was held on a limited scale in the last two years.
