A 14-year-old boy, who sustained multiple injuries on his head and leg, has been lying unattended at the neurosurgery ward of Dhaka Medical College Hospital since last night.

Salahuddin, son of one Faruk, hailing from Kasba of Brahmanbaria, was going to his grandparents’ house in Khilkhet area of Dhaka yesterday.

He sustained the injuries while getting down from a train at Banani Railway Station around 11:30pm yesterday, said Sub-Inspector Imtiaz of Banani Police Station.

Later, the SI admitted the boy to DMCH around 1:00am.

The boy, who regained consciousness this morning, could remember his father’s name and the district and upazila he hails from, but is still having difficulty to recall other relatives and their contacts, our staff correspondent reports visiting the boy.

He sustained two fractures in his right leg and injuries in different parts of his body as well, the hospital sources said.

He is being administered the drugs available at the hospital, but those unavailable at the hospital could not be administered on him as none of his relatives or immediate contacts have come to attend to him at the hospital.

The hospital caregivers were giving him food.

The hospital authorities said that he will be shifted to the orthopedic ward of the hospital due to the fractures in his leg.
