Twenty-year-old Sara Islam’s consent to donate her organs after her death has given new life to four, two with completely damaged kidneys and two without eyesight, in the country’s first successful transplantation of organs from a brain-dead patient.
Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina today (September 14, 2022) inaugurated the much-awaited Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University (BSMMU) Super Specialized Hospital, first of its kind in the country, aiming to provide specialised treatment at a cheaper cost.
BSMMU has set up a “fever clinic” at Bangladesh Betar Bhaban in Shahbagh. Doctors are regularly providing services at the “clinic”, set up at the ground floor of Betar Bhaban, BSMMU said in a press release.
The Institute of Paediatric Neurodisorder and Autism (IPNA) received the approval to run a course on Autism and other Neurodevelopmental Disabilities (NDDs) by the Academic Council of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University (BSMMU) on 1 April, 2019.
