Warda Rihab is one of the most dynamic, graceful and scintillating young dancers in our country, and has been holding that title for a while now. Trained in Manipuri, Warda is now a faculty member in Chhayanaut Institute as a teacher for Manipuri students. Warda has studied the art thoroughly, and after obtaining her degree from Rabindra Bharati, has been an avid choreographer, consistently involving herself in various shows and launching breathtaking productions. What many do not know of this brilliant dancer is that she has a background in business! The Star Weekend caught up with Warda this week to find out some more fun facts about her.
Who are your three favourite dancers?
Smt Kalavati Devi, Smt Bimbavati Devi and Leela Samson.
You first thought on stage…
"Here, right now, I am King. I will do whatever I can to keep all eyes on me."
Who has inspired you throughout your life?
Maa
When Warda is not dancing, she can be found…
Thinking of dancing, choreographing pieces in my mind, fixing and cleaning my dance accessories and costumes.
Your goal in life?
To produce learned and well-seasoned dancers out of my students.
What is your advice for upcoming dancers?
Don't practice and nurture dance just physically, do it mentally and theoretically too. Research and study on the subject, and then you will truly succeed.
