3 girls rescued from traffickers
Police yesterday arrested a member of a human-trafficking syndicate and rescued three teenage sisters from Narayanganj.
The arrestee, Jeba Begum, 45, used to live at a rented house at Jhalkuri area.
Police said the girls were locked up in Jeba’s house; traffickers were planning to send them to Middle East.
After the rescue, elder sister of the victims filed a case with Siddhirganj Police Station, accusing three people, including Jeba, said Kamrul Faruk, officer-in-charge (OC) of the police station.
The other accused are Murad Hossain, 54, and Shahdat Hossain, 53, who work at a travel agency in Dhaka, the OC said.
