IGP Javed Patwary promoted to rank of senior secy
Mohammad Javed Patwary, inspector general of police, has been promoted to the rank of the senior secretary.
Home Ministry has issued a circular to make the decision effective immediately, a handout of the ministry signed by Farzana Jesmin, senior assistant secretary, said today.
The government on January 25, this year, appointed Javed Patwary as the new inspector general of police. Javed, was upgraded to the rank of secretary in 2013.
Known for his clean image in the police force, Javed joined police service after he topped the merit list of the police cadre in the sixth BCS, 1984.
He played a vital role in collecting documents based on which “Karagarer Rojnamcha” (Diary in Jail) was written on the prison life of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.
