Newborn left abandoned on Lalmonirhat street rescued by police after 999 call
A newborn was found alive early this morning after she was left abandoned on the street in Lalmonirhat sadar upazila.
A team of police rescued the baby after a local called 999 and informed that the baby was shivering in cold near Kalibari Food Storage, said Inspector Anwar Sattar, focal person (Media) of the National Emergency Service 999.
Shaha Alam, officer-in-charge of Lalmonirhat Sadar Police Station, said the baby was left abandoned on the street without any warm clothes.
"The baby was rushed to the district sadar hospital and is currently being treated at the intensive care unit," he said.
Doctors are trying their best and police are trying to identify her parents, the OC said, adding there were no injury marks on the newborn's body.
