Rohingya man held with 35,000 yaba tablets
A Rohingya man has been held at Cox’s Bazar’s Teknaf with 35,000 pieces of contraband yaba tablets.
The intelligence wing of Department of Narcotics Control detained Rashid Ullah, 35, a resident of Muangdaw, and seized the yaba from him last night, our Cox’s Bazar correspondent reports.
The department’s Chittagong divisional intelligence wing’s Assistant Director Md Zillur Rahman told The Daily Star Rashid was detained for his suspicious activities from Hnila union last night.
He had a polythene bag with him which contained 35,000 pieces of yaba, the official said.
A lawsuit has been filed against him under the Narcotics Control Act. He will be produced before the court this afternoon.
