New car this week
BMW's most affordable sedan is finally here in Bangladesh. Rolled out by Executive Motors though a virtual event on August 07, 2020, the new 218i Gran Coupé marks the official debut of the 2 series in Dhaka streets.
Although called a "four-door coupe" by its German makers, the car is more akin to compact sedans offered by the ToSuMi clan. That said, the size is one of the very few things "The 2" shares with those cars.
The Gran Coupé is loaded with luxury amenities such as Parking Assistant, automatic tailgate, panoramic sunroof, ambient lighting, and BMW Live Cockpit paired to an 8.8-inch Central Information Display. The wheels are 17-inch Double-spoke 549 wrapped in run-flat tires while the window graphic surrounds comes from BMW Individual High-gloss Shadow Line.
Power comes to form a 1.5-liter turbo 3-cylinder paired to a seven-speed dual-clutch Steptronic transmission. The combination offers 140 hp and 220 Nm of torque, which sadly only goes to the front wheels.
Speaking of numbers, here's the big one. The starting price BDT 68,00,000, included with which is a 5-year/60,000 km warranty covering free Service, parts, repair, and maintenance.
