Winning start for Bangladesh
Last edition's runners-up Bangladesh hockey team made a winning start in the Youth Olympic Games Qualifiers with a massive 10-4 win over Singapore in the first match in Bangkok, Thailand yesterday.
Abahani striker Mohammad Mohsin slotted a hattrick while Abed Uddin, Shafiul Islam Shishir and Sarwar Shawon added two goals each and Rakibul Hasan netted one.
Zulkarnain and Bijayan pulled two goals each for Singapore.
Mohsin, who became top scorer in just concluded Club Cup Tournament, gave the lead in the fourth minute before completing his hattrick by scoring two more goals in the 21st minute and 30th minute respectively of the five-a-side 30-minute game.
Today, Bangladesh will play two Group B matches against Cambodia and Malaysia.
