SAFF Women's C'ship in March

The 5th SAFF Women's Championship will be held in Nepal in March next year, confirmed South Asian Football Federation's general secretary Anwarul Haque Helal yesterday.
“The championship will get underway from March 11 and end on March 21 in Kathmandu,” Helal said, adding that the venue has been shifted to Nepal following refusal of Sri Lanka, who were supposed to host the event in December this year.
The draw of the championship was earlier held in Dhaka with last edition's runners-up Bangladesh, Nepal, Pakistan and Bhutan in Group A while Group B featured holders India, Sri Lanka and Maldives.
Pothas named interim Windies head coach

Nic Pothas has been named interim head coach of the West Indies on Tuesday for the tour of Bangladesh. He will take over from Stuart Law, who stepped down after the tour of India.
Pothas, who also served as Sri Lanka's interim head coach, was appointed as Windies' fielding coach earlier in the year.
BKSP dominate youth archery

BKSP topped the medals tally with seven gold, four silver and six bronze medals as the two-day Teer 2nd National Youth Archery Championships came to an end at the Shaheed Ahsanullah Master Stadium in Tongi yesterday.
In the junior category (U-20), Tamimul Islam grabbed gold in boys' recurve while Hiramoni won gold in girls' recurve event. In compound event, Siam Siddique won gold in boys' group while Bonna Akter won gold in girls' group.
Hornets sting Gregarious

Hornets SC made a winning start in the Unimed Unihealth Premier Division Basketball League, which got underway at the Dhanmondi Indoor Gymnasium yesterday.
Hornets beat The Gregarious Club 60-66 after having led the first half 34-30.
