Petkov becomes oldest European international goalkeeper
Bulgarian Georgi Petkov became the oldest European international goalkeeper when he started against Cyprus on Friday, BNT state television reported.
Petkov, who is 42 years and eight months old, also became Bulgaria's oldest player in their Nations League match in Nicosia.
BNT reported that he beat the record of former Liverpool goalkeeper Elisha Scott, who was aged 42 years and six months when he made his last appearance for Ireland in 1936.
"Well, I take it as something normal. This is not something to be astonished with... I have said before that I am always ready to help Bulgaria," Petkov told BNT before the start of the game.

Salah snatches winner
Mohamed Salah scored in the final minute to give Egypt a 3-2 home victory over Tunisia on Friday in a 2019 Africa Cup of Nations match between two countries who have already qualified.
The Liverpool star chipped the ball into the net to complete the scoring in a seesaw matchday 5 struggle during which both sides led.
Naim Sliti gave Tunisia an early lead that Mahmoud 'Trezeguet' Hassan cancelled before half-time at the 86,000-seat Borg el Arab stadium in Alexandria.
Baher el Mohamad nodded Egypt in front on the hour only for Sliti to score again with 18 minutes remaining and a draw seemed likely until Salah struck.

BGB retain handball title
Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) retained the National Handball Championship title by handing an easy 25-17 defeat to Bangladesh Police in the final of the Exim Bank sponsored event at Shaheed (captain) M Mansur Ali National Handball Stadium yesterday.
This was the eight title in a row for BGB and 27th overall out of 28 editions. Bangladesh Air Force are the only other team to have won the National Handball Championship, clinching the 1988 title following the tournament's introduction in 1984.
Interestingly, Bangladesh Police played against only the BGB, who were previously known as Bangladesh Rifles, in the last 14 finals of the championship. However, they never overcame their superior counterparts and yesterday's defeat ensured their 18th runners-up trophy from the meet.

Proteas too strong for Aussies
Speedster Chris Morris claimed two key wickets as South Africa strangled Australia to a 21-run victory in their rain-reduced Twenty20 international on the Gold Coast on Saturday.
The South Africans easily protected their 108 for six total off 10 overs to restrict Australia to 87 for seven with Morris the star of the Proteas bowling attack.
Morris claimed the wickets of D'Arcy Short for a first-ball duck and Chris Lynn for 14 in his opening over to trigger a wicket slide.
The Australians fell away from 21 for one after two overs to be 60 for six upon the dismissal of Alex Carey for eight in the seventh over.
