‘Countrywide school kabaddi next year’
Bangladesh Kabaddi Federation (BKF) will host a massive school kabaddi tournament next year involving close to one-and-a-half lac school students across the country as part of the birth centenary of father of the nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, informed BKF president and Inspector General of Police Mohammad Javed Patwary yesterday.
“To mark the ‘Mujib Year’, we are planning to host a big international and a number of domestic tournaments next year. We are also working on hosting a school kabaddi tournament involving one-and-a-half lac school students across 550 venues of the country,” Patwary said while talking to reporters at the conference room of Bangladesh Police headquarters.
The Police chief also congratulated the men’s youth kabaddi team for finishing third in the inaugural Junior World kabaddi Championship in Iran recently.
While talking about the current activities and future plans of the federation as well as other sporting activities and achievements of Police, the IGP disclosed the men’s and women’s kabaddi teams for the upcoming South Asian Games, hoping good results from both teams in Nepal.
