U-19 women look to salvage pride
Bangladesh will look to salvage some pride when they take on hosts Tajikistan in their final group match of the AFC U-19 Women's Championship Qualifiers at the in Dushanbe today.
Having seen their hopes of qualifying for the second round extinguished following successive defeats -- 7-0 against South Korea and 2-0 against Chinese Taipei -- Golam Rabbani Choton's charges will hope to end this underperforming campaign with a win and avoid the wooden spoon. Tajikistan, too, have lost both their matches and conceded 10 goals and are bottom of the group on goal difference.
A draw would technically see Bangladesh finish third in the four-team group, but they will want to end with a victory for a morale boost ahead of their upcoming assignments.
Bangladesh will be boosted by the return of forward Krishna Rani Sarker, who missed the first two matches through suspension while defender Masura Parvin will again miss out due to her injury.
The match will get underway at 4:00pm Bangladesh time.
