Neymar return not possible: Barca president
There have been rumours since Neymar’s move to PSG that the forward wants to return to the Camp Nou but Barca president informed that Neymar’s people did not call about a possible return.
Barcelona had previously suggested that they did not want the player back even as rumours were surfacing from various sources. Two high-profile signings in Ousmane Dembele and Philippe Coutinho have arrived since Neymar’s departure and Bartomeu said the club is looking to the future.
“The club's taken another path, with (Ousmane) Dembele, (Philippe) Coutinho. We have to move on with them. They're the two biggest investments in the club's history and we back them 100 per cent,” he said speaking to Spanish radio station Radio Kanal Barcelona.
Regarding Neymar’s return, Bartomeu did not deny that he had met with the player.
"I've spoken with Neymar, we've seen each other a few times, but his people have never told me he wants to come back.
“No one's called us about it. Neymar has a contract with PSG. It's his second season there and it's very difficult (to imagine) they want to sell. We didn't want to,” he said about wanting the player back.
"We have the disadvantage of the (release) clause here. European clubs (can) take advantage of that. That's not the case (in France) so it's not possible for him to return,” he said.
