Fabregas blocked from exit
Cesc Fabregas' proposed move to Monaco this month has been blocked by Chelsea director Marina Granovskaia as they look to sign a replacement before his departure. However, the midfielder will reportedly join the French side in the summer when his Chelsea contract runs out. Fabregas has been heavily linked with Monaco, where he would link up with former Arsenal team-mate Thierry Henry. Fabregas had already said his goodbyes to the Chelsea fans and teammates in their win over Nottingham Forest on Saturday, therefore It was expected that Fabregas was close to completing his move to Monaco. However, it turned out that the Blues want a replacement for Fabregas before letting him leave with Sky Sports claiming that Chelsea director Granovskaia is blocking the deal until another a player is brought in. The report says Fabregas has agreed a three-year deal to join Monaco this summer but it remains unclear whether Fabregas will stay or leave the club. --Agencies
