Embassy Cup from Friday

The second edition of the Embassy Cup Football Tournament, an initiative of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to enhance relationships with the motto ‘Sports for Peace’, is set to get underway in Dhaka tomorrow.

13 teams from the embassies of Australia, Bhutan, Iraq, South Korea, Maldives, Norway, Pakistan, Palestine, Saudi Arabia, Sri Lanka, Sweden, USA and Vietnam will join three other teams -- a United Nations side, Diplomat Police team and ministry of foreign affairs team -- will take part in the seven-a-side tournament.

Home minister Asaduzzaman Khan will inaugurate the two-day tournament.
