Double header in Dhaka today
After a two-day recess, the Bangladesh Premier League gets back to action today in Dhaka with two matches.
Defending champions Abahani had a bit of a stutter when they lost against early pace-setters Bashundhara Kings, have bounced back with two consecutive victories, including a 5-0 drubbing of Rahmatganj in their last match.
The Sky Blues, who share the top spot along with four other teams, will be full of confidence as they take on second-from-bottom Team BJMC who have only a point to show from their four matches so far.
The first match of the fifth round will be followed by an even more intriguing fixture when surprise joint-leaders Arambagh take on three-time champions Sheikh Jamal.
Arambagh have strung together three wins on the trot since their opening game defeat against Sheikh Russel and they look the team to beat, especially after their 2-0 win against Chittagong Abahani in their last match.
On the other hand Sheikh Jamal have had a forgettable start, managing only a single point from their first three games. However, a 2-0 win over Team BJMC in their last match should give them some confidence going into this crucial encounter.
The other two league leaders Bashundhara Kings and Sheikh Russel -- the only teams to have maintained a 100 per cent record thus far -- will be in action the following two days. Sheikh Russel will play Saif SC on Friday while Bashundhara Kings take on Muktijoddha Sangsad the following day. Wins for these two teams may already drive a wedge between the real title contenders and the also-rans.
