Prince to stay Tigers’ batting consultant till T20 WC

Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) today informed its intention of having former South Africa batsman Ashwell Prince as Tigers' batting consultant at least till the next T20 World Cup, scheduled to be held in UAE in October-November this year.
"We held a number of meetings in the past few days with the BCB president Nazmul Hassan over this matter. We had appointed him [Prince] as batting consultant for the Zimbabwe series only. However, we took feedback from players and learned that the players have faith in him and are satisfied with his work," said BCB cricket operations committee chairman Akram Khan to the media today.
BCB had appointed Sri Lanka's Rangana Herath as Tigers' spin bowling consultant and South Africa's Ashwell Prince as their batting consultant in June ahead of their tour of Zimbabwe.
BCB might also opt to continue with Prince even after the T20I World Cup.
"Our plan is to go ahead with him [Prince as Bangladesh's batting consultant]. As it would be difficult to get a coach before the World Cup and also as the players seem to have trust in him, we want to go ahead with him. Batsmen performed well in the Zimbabwe tour. So, it is certain that Prince will be with us till the World Cup. We will let the media know in six to seven days if Prince's contract will be extended even after the World Cup," added Akram.
