Sayedee at BSMMU again
Convicted war criminal Delawar Hossain Sayedee was again taken to Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University (BSMMU) for medical check-up today after he complained of waist and knee pain.
He was sent to the BSMMU from Dhaka Central Jail around 10:30am today, family and prison sources said.
The 74-year-old Jamaat-e-Islami leader later was sent back to the jail around 1:30pm after his check-up at orthopedic department of the hospital, said Farman Ali, senior jail super of the prison.
Yesterday, Sayedee was shifted to the Dhaka Jail from Kashimpur High Security Jail in Gazipur after a medical checkup at the BSMMU as he was complaining of chest pain.
The Supreme Court on September 17 commuted his death sentence handed down by International Crimes Tribunal-1 for his crimes against humanity committed in the country’s Liberation War in 1971.
The ICT sentenced him to death on February 28 last year on charges of killing, abduction, torture, rape and forced religious conversion.
The 74-year-old Jamaat-e-Islami leader was admitted to the same hospital after he felt chest pain at Kashimpur High Security Jail in Gazipur yesterday.
Later, the nayeb-e-ameer of Jamaat was released and taken to the Dhaka jail.
