Over 50 Natore schoolgirls fall sick after eating 'tiffin'
At least 50 students fell sick allegedly after eating tiffin served at a girls’ school in Natore this morning.
The students of Natore Government Girls High School felt severe stomach ache after consuming cakes provide by the school authorities around 10:30am, our Natore correspondent reports quoting teachers and guardians.
Among the sick students, 20 were rushed to Natore Sadar Hospital.
Contacted, Gopal Chandra Sarkar, headmaster of the school, said the authorities have been providing the students with tiffin for the past few years.
“A local bakery has been supplying the foods. But no such incident took place before. We will look into the matter,” he said.
Additional Deputy Commissioner (Education) Ataur Rahman and Superintendent of Natore police Bashudeb Banik visited the school.
