The number of crocodile population remaining in the rivers and canals of the Sundarbans, according to a survey jointly conducted by Bangladesh Forest Department and Centre for Advanced Research in Natural Resources & Management (CARINAM), a wildlife research organization. Using the Global Positioning System (GPS) the survey was done to identify the locations of crocodiles live in there. The crocodile population has declined to nearly 100 due to destruction of their habitat.
