I’ve played 5 roles in one movie: Swagata
Popular actress Zinat Sanu Swagata has made her space in the entertainment industry with outstanding acting and singing prowess. Her confident demeanour and numerous successful television projects have solidified her position in the limelight.
As anticipation builds for her upcoming film "Oshombhob," set to release next month, Swagata took a moment to converse with The Daily Star, shedding light on her latest film and more.
Your new movie is set to be released next month.
Absolutely, you're right. Aruna Biswas has directed the movie "Oshombhob," and it's slated to be released next month. "Oshombhob" is a remarkably beautiful film, one that families can enjoy together in theatres.
Which character do you portray in this movie?
I've taken on five different roles in this single movie. As an actress, the opportunities to perform were abundant, and I capitalised on each one. Audiences will see me traversing various characters throughout the film.
What's the standout feature of 'Oshombhob'?
You see, Aruna Biswas, the director of this movie, comes from a remarkable artistic lineage. Her mother is the renowned Jyotsna Biswas, and her father is the esteemed Jatra Samrat Amalendu Biswas. This family background naturally infuses history, journey, and familial sentiments into the film. When an artist from such a rich lineage directs a movie, it becomes something special. Audiences will undoubtedly feel this unique essence when they watch it. I am immensely pleased to have had the opportunity to work with Aruna.
You started your career as a child artist and have been part of showbiz since 2005, how do you perceive setbacks at this point?
There are multiple silver linings. I began my journey in acting and singing under my father's guidance when I was a child. My father is no longer with us. Over the years, I've acted in movies and dramas, alongside my singing endeavours. At present, I'm working on two new songs. Naturally, I don't always get the roles I aspire to play because, ultimately, I am an actress. My desire is to enact roles that quench the artistic thirst within me after a performance—roles that genuinely satisfy me as an artiste.
How has life been treating you so far?
I am exceedingly content with my life. The opportunity to act and sing—all of it comes from the love of the people. Thus, I find immense happiness in my life.
