Kohli makes great sporting gesture, gifts Liton his bat
Bangladesh lost their Super 12 encounter against India in the T20 World Cup on Wednesday despite Liton Das's exquisite innings. The batter would've felt hard done by for not coming away with a win but he did leave the Adelaide Oval with a gift to treasure.
Following the hotly contested affair, India batter Virat Kohli showcased an incredible gesture -- coming from a key figure from the opposition camp -- as he brought with him one of his bats as a present for Liton to show his appreciation.
The Bangladesh cricket team manager, Rabeed Imam, confirmed the incident to the Daily Star.
"Virat came to the dining hall and gifted Liton with one of his bats," he said today.
The sheer brilliance of Liton's 27-ball 60 commanded the admiration of all alike and it appeared that Kohli, one of the greats of the game, was among them.
The Indian batting maestro kept his stellar form intact to score an unbeaten 64 runs to lay the foundation for victory, but Liton's onslaught gave jitters to the India camp as Liton's fifty had placed Bangladesh ahead in DLS once rain halted play as the Tigers were 66-0 after seven overs.
