Rain hampers rescue operation
The sudden downpour badly hampered the rescue and search efforts at the site of Savar building collapse on Saturday.
The rescue operation is going on in full swing since morning with at least 26 people rescued alive till this afternoon.
But the rescuers have been facing difficulties to continue their operation for at least 25 minutes due to rain that started around 1:20pm, reported our correspondent from the spot.
Rescue workers, who were inside the sandwiched building, went out fearing another collapse as deluge stared to pouring inside the collapsed building.
The workers worked only on the ninth-floor, which is the top floor of the building, during the rain.
The rescue workers resumed full-fledged operation around 1:45pm with the rescue of a man and a woman alive from the second-floor of the shattered building.
