Demand for Khaleda’s treatment abroad: BNP to observe hunger strike on Nov 20
BNP will start a mass hunger strike this Saturday (November 20) -- demanding that the government allow party chief Khaleda Zia to go abroad for better medical treatment.
Party's Senior Joint Secretary General Ruhul Kabir Rizvi announced the programme at a press briefing at BNP's Nayapaltan headquarters.
He said the party's human chain in front of the National Press Club -- protesting hike in oil, gas prices and public transport fare -- scheduled for Saturday has been suspended.
Instead of the human chain, the party will sit in for hunger strike at the same venue on that day -- demanding release of Khaleda and allowing her to go abroad for better treatment.
Rizvi said the mass hunger strike will be observed from 9:00am to 4:00pm.
