Pankaj Bhattacharya passes away
Pankaj Bhattacharya, Oikya NAP president and one of the organisers of the country's Liberation War, died at a city hospital today. He was 83 years old.
He breathed his last at 12:25am at the capital's Health and Hope Hospital, Lenin Chowdhury, a doctor at the hospital, told The Daily Star.
The veteran politician was admitted to the hospital on April 17. He suffered a cardiac arrest on Saturday morning. He was then put on life support.
Born in August 1939, Pankaj grew up in Noapara of Chattogram's Raozan.
