Including ‘Muktijuddho’, ‘Muktijoddha’ in constitution: Petition filed with HC
A writ petition was filed with the High Court today, seeking its directive on the government to include the words "Muktijuddho" (Liberation War) and "Muktijoddha" (freedom fighters) in the constitution of the state.
Six freedom fighters, including one Abul Bashar, collectively submitted the writ petition to the section concerned of the HC, seeking necessary directives to this effect.
Petitioners' counsel Hasnat Quaiyum told The Daily Star that there is no mention of the words "Muktijoddha" and "Muktijoddha" in the constitution.
The lawyer said hearing on the writ petition may be held next week before an HC bench.
