Govt to ease 'strict lockdown' from July 15 to 22
The ongoing strict lockdown imposed by the government to control the surge of coronavirus will be eased from July 15 to 22.
The Cabinet Division will issue a gazette notification tomorrow in this regard, said a Press Information Department (PID) handout today.
The government will impose a strict lockdown again from July 23, the PID handout added.
Earlier in the day, an official of the Cabinet Division, preferring to remain unnamed, said the government is planning to ease the ongoing strict lockdown from July 15, ahead of Eid.
"A proposal has been sent to allow public transports and opening of shops on a limited scale," said the official.
Against the backdrop of surging Covid-19 cases, the government enforced a 'strict lockdown' across the country from July 1 for seven days.
It was later extended for seven more days till July 14.
