Independent candidate among 10 injured in pre-polls violence in Bogura
An independent chairman candidate in Bhatra union parishad (UP) election was attacked and injured allegedly by supporters of rival Awami League candidate today.
The attack on Abdul Ahel Bari took place at his business establishment at Pandipukur Bazar of Bogura's Nandrigram.
Locals said that the supporters of AL chairman candidate and also current chairman Morshedul Bari vandalised Ahel's business establishment.
At least nine other supporters of independent candidate Ahel were also reported injured.
Later the police went to the spot and brought the situation under control.
Nandigram Police Station Officer-in-Charge Abul Kalam Azad could not be reached over phone.
