Momen, Jaishankar hold talks on sidelines of G20
Visiting Bangladesh Foreign Minister AK Abdul Momen today held talks with his Indian counterpart S Jaishankar on the sidelines of the G-20 Development Ministers' meeting in the Indian city of Varanasi.
This was the first meeting between the two foreign ministers since the US announced its visa policy on Bangladesh ahead of upcoming national polls, reports our New Delhi correspondent.
There was no official word from either Dhaka or New Delhi on whether the issue came up during the meeting between Momen and Jaishankar.
According to a press release issued by the Bangladesh High Commission in New Delhi, Momen and Jaishankar expressed satisfaction with the existing excellent relations between the two countries.
They discussed issues of bilateral interests and the various important events which are expected to take place in the coming days, it said.

Momen appreciated India for successfully steering the G20 meetings and the leadership role in addressing the global challenges during India's G20 presidency.
Momen attended today the G20 Development Minister's meeting where foreign ministers and other ministers from G20 countries as well as guest countries were present.
An ambitious seven-year action plan put forward by India to accelerate progress on SDGs by the G20 countries through an inclusive roadmap was adopted today by the ministers of the influential grouping.
It also adopted another document that aimed to enhance cooperation and partnerships for sustainable lifestyles to complement climate mitigation.
Speaking at the meeting, Jaishankar, delving into various challenges, said the prospects for a global economic recovery remains dim amidst supply chain disruptions, prolonged debt crisis and pressures on energy, food and fertilizer security.
