Injured while making bomb, man dies at DMCH
A man who sustained injuries in an explosion while making bombs in Jashore, died at Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH) early today.
The deceased was identified as Shafiqul Islam (30), a resident of Rajghat area of Abhaynagar upazila in Jashore, reports our Benapole correspondent.
Shafiqul Islam was injured on September 13 when an explosion occurred at his house, according to police and family sources. That night, police recovered traces of an improvised explosive device as well as five local weapons from the scene.
Abhaynagar Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC), AKM Shamim Ahsan, said that Shafiqul was rescued in critical condition by family members after the explosion and was admitted to Abhaynagar Upazila Health Complex. He was later transferred to Dhaka Medical College Hospital yesterday after his condition deteriorated.
Shafiqul's death was confirmed by Bachchu Mia, an inspector at DMCH's police outpost. His body has been kept at DMCH morgue for autopsy.
A case has been filed in this regard at Abhaynagar Police Station, the OC said.
