Evaly fraud case: Tahsan gets permanent bail
A Dhaka court today granted permanent bail to musician Tahsan Khan in a case filed against him and others over fraud -- for their involvement with e-commerce platform Evaly.
Dhaka Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Md Rezaul Karim Chowdhury passed the order after Tahsan along with his lawyer appeared before it, seeking bail in the case.
Earlier on January 20, the High Court granted him anticipatory bail for six weeks after his surrender before it.
The High Court also directed Tahsan to surrender before the lower court within the period.
Earlier on December 13 last year, another HC bench granted anticipatory bail for eight weeks to actors Rafiath Rashid Mithila and Sabnam Faria in the same case.
Both of them had secured permanent bail from CMM Court on different dates.
On December 4 same year, an aggrieved customer of Evaly -- Saad Sam Rahman -- filed the case with Dhanmondi Police Station against nine people, including Evaly CEO Mohammad Rassel, Chairman Shamima Nasrin, musician Tahsan, and actors Mithila and Faria.
