Hit by pick-up van, woman dies in Dhaka’s Matuail

A woman died after being hit by a pick-up van on Dhaka-Chattogram Highway in Matuail area this morning.

Mukta Ara Begum (47) sustained critical injuries in the accident at 9:30am, in front of Institute of Child and Mother Health in Matuail.

She was declared dead at Dhaka Medical College Hospital around 11:30am, said Saddam Hossain, a sub-inspector of Jatrabari Police Station. 

Police seized the vehicle and detained its driver, he added.

The body was sent to hospital morgue for autopsy.
