MCCI gets new president


The Metropolitan Chamber of Commerce and Industry (MCCI) yesterday elected Abdul Hafiz Choudhury as its president for the year 2009, said a press statement.
Choudhury is a senior partner of Rahman Rahman Huq, a member of KPMG International, one of the top four accounting firms in the world. He was elected at a meeting of the chamber's new committee.
Choudhury had previously served as president of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Bangladesh and as director of Bangladesh Bank and Rupali Bank.
The new committee of MCCI also elected Apex Adelchi Footwear Managing Director Syed Nasim Manzur as its vice president.
