Preparatory jamaat begins

A five-day preparatory congregation began on Friday on the east bank of the river Turag to hold a three-day Bishwa Ijtema from January 13.
The Bishwa Ijtema would be held in two phases. The first ijtema will be held from January 13-15 and the second on Jan 20-22 next year.
Organisers said about one lakh devotees from Bangladesh, India, Pakistan and other Muslim countries are taking part in the five-day preparatory jamaat, which will end on December 6.
Akheri munajat of the preparatory jamaat will be held on the evening of December 6 (Tuesday).
