Hillary calls Hasina, lauds her role against extremism
US Secretary of State Hillary Clinton has praised Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina for her stance against terrorism and militancy.
In a 15-minute telephone talk last night, she also assured the prime minister of all-out support in fighting extremism.
Hillary called Hasina around 10:00pm, PM's Press Secretary Abul Kalam Azad told The Daily Star.
The US secretary lauded the Bangladesh government for the steps taken to entrench democracy and the rule of law, attain food security and widen social safety nets.
During the 15-minute talk, the two leaders also discussed some issues of mutual interest.
Hasina invited the US leader to visit Bangladesh.
