Woman banker shot in city
A female accounts officer of a private bank was shot yesterday in the capital's Paribagh area when two armed motorbike riders were running away from there firing indiscriminately.
Identified as Irin Sultana, 30, an accountant of Standard Bank's Hatirpool branch and also a resident of Boro Moghbazar, was rushed to Dhaka Medical College Hospital with two bullet wounds on her back.
Contacted, Standard Bank public relations officer Mezbah Uddin Ahmed said, "She received the bullets on her way to office on foot from her residence around 9:00am."
Shahbagh police station Officer-in-charge Rezaul Karim said they were investigating the incident.
