'Taqdeer' honoured with 'Best Regional Web Series of the Year' award
Syed Ahmed Shawki directorial web series "Taqdeer" premiered on Hoichoi in December 2020, to much critical acclaim. The series has now won the Best Regional Web Series of the year in the 'Gold' category in the prestigious Promax India Award.
According to a press note, there was a competition among other nominated contents from ZEE5 Global, Alt Balaji, Hotstar and Voot, in which "Taqdeer" was recognised as the best web series of the year.
The eight episode show features prolific actor Chanchal Chowdhury, along with talented artistes including the likes of Manoj Pramanik, Sanjida Preety, Partha Barua, and Sohel Mondal Rana, among others.
The director was elated about the accomplishment. "I feel happy for the cast and crew, who worked relentlessly to bring the story forward to millions around the world," shares Shawki.
Chanchal Chowdhury was lauded for his stellar performance in the series. "It is an immense pleasure to know that people around the world have praised our hard work," shares the " Monpura" and "Aynabaji" famed actor.
"I am proud to be a part of such a project that represents the talent of this country. The team deserves a bow!"
"I will call 'Taqdeer' a trendsetter production for OTT platforms, as it has the pure essence of telling the original story rather than following foreign format," he adds.
Elated about "Taqdeer's" achievements, Sakib R Khan, hoichoi Bangladesh Lead, mentioned, "It is a surreal moment for us at hoichoi, to see the show getting acknowledged by a prestigious award like the Promax India Digital Reinvent Awards."
"It was a truly honourable moment to see a story born out of the heartland of Dhaka, being nominated among some of the best Indian content and winning Gold from a global platform like Promax. The entire team of Hoichoi and 'Taqdeer' is extremely overwhelmed with this success," he concludes.
