‘Galliyan Returns’ expands on ‘Ek Villain’ legacy
"Galliyan Returns" is a rebooted version of "Galliyan", which was in the original "Ek Villain" movie. The video for the new song features John Abraham, Disha Patani, Arjun Kapoor and Tara Sutaria.
This is the first song for the upcoming sequel "Ek Villain Returns", and was released by T-Series on Monday.
The music video for "Galliyan Returns" starts with Disha Patani and John Abraham sharing a romantic scene in the rain, while Arjun Kapoor and Tara Sutaria are falling in love at a concert. However, unlike the original song, this version is much darker. In between scenes of romance and intimacy, there are glimpses of blood and violence. At one point, Disha, while hugging John, exchanges a villainous smile with Arjun.
"Galliyan Returns" has been sung and composed by Ankit Tiwari, with Manoj Muntashir penning the lyrics.
"Ek Villain", the original movie was released in 2014 and starred Sidharth Malhotra as Guru—a criminal who changes his ways after falling in love with a girl named Aisha, who is played by Shraddha Kapoor.
The trailer for "Ek Villain Returns" was released last week and showed Arjun Kapoor and John Abraham fighting each other, with very little information to clarify who is the real villain between the two.
"Ek Villain Returns" is set eight years after the events of the first movie and is slated to be released in theatres on July 29.
