Number of Covid-19 infected police personnel crosses 10,000

The total number of police personnel infected with Covid-19 across the country crossed 10,000, according to a tally by the Police Headquarters.

Of those infected, 2,248 are from Dhaka Metropolitan Police, it added.

Meanwhile, more than 6,000 police personnel have recovered so far, with many having already rejoined their duties.

Of the infected personnel, at least 40 have died.

Besides, around 15,000 others are in isolation or quarantine as they have either showed Covid-19 like symptoms or come in contact with infected colleagues or patients.
