Trader found dead
Police recovered the body of a cattle trader in Ranishankoil upazila yesterday.
The deceased, Toiyab Ali, 40, was son of Khamir Uddin of Gogor Jharbari village in the upazila.
Inspector (Investigation) of Ranishankoil Police Station Khairul Anam said Toiyab went out of his house on Saturday afternoon and remained missing since then.
As he didn't return home, family members started searching him yesterday morning and, at one stage, they found Toiyab's body, with severe stab injuries, at a wheat field around 10:30am.
On information, police went to the spot, recovered the body and sent it to Sadar Hospital for autopsy.
The reason behind the murder is not clear, the Inspector said, adding that they were investigating the incident.
Meanwhile, victim's elder brother Mohammad Babul filed a murder case with Ranishankoil Police Station yesterday.
