Youth held in Jhenaidah anti-militancy drive
Rapid Action Battalion detained a youth in a drive at a suspected militant hideout in Jhenaidah Sardar upazila on Wednesday.
A team of Rab-6 conducted the drive at a house in Kaluhati village around 4:00am and detained Aktar Hossain alias Safari, 25, son of the house owner Sharafat Hossain, Rab-6 Commanding Officer Hasan Emon Al-Tajin told our Jhenaidah correspondent.
The members of the elite force also recovered some “Jihadi books” from the house.
Aktar, who got married recently, passed the Dakhil exam from a local madrasa. His father Sharafat is a farmer.
Sharafat Hossain, father of the detainee, claimed that his son is “mentally sick”, reports Bangla daily Prothom Alo.
Earlier, in 2016 law enforcers conducted drives at five militants den, where two suspected militants were killed and a huge quantity of explosives was recovered.
