Mobile courts postpone weddings of 3 expats on home quarantine
Different mobile courts postponed the weddings of three expatriates in Moulvibazar because they are supposed to be in home quarantine.
The three returnees from different countries hit by coronavirus were either getting married or had weddings scheduled when they were supposed to be under home quarantine.
Mobile courts fined the three a total of Tk 70,000 and fined a community centre Tk 50,000 for agreeing to host the wedding, reports our Moulvibazar correspondent quoting police.
A mobile court conducted a drive at a community centre at Moulvibazar's Sadar upazila and stopped the wedding of a Greece returnee this noon, said Executive Magistrate Nesar Uddin.
The man who came back on March 8 was fined Tk 50,000.
In Kulaura upazila, two expatriates were fined Tk 10,000 each for violating the conditions of their home quarantine, and were asked to postpone their weddings.
Among the expatriates, there is a returnee from Oman and one from Dubai. The Oman returnee's wedding was being held at a local community centre while the Dubai returnee's wedding was scheduled for tomorrow, Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) ATM Farhad Chowdhury said.
They came to Bangladesh on March 7 and March 15 and should have remained in home quarantine, the official said.
